July update: Housing market update and video tip of the month

Well, well, where did those 6 months go? We are halfway through 2021 and it feels like only yesterday that we were confirming the zPlan rebrand, juggling the difficulties of lockdowns and managing the ups and downs in workload. Now, it’s full steam ahead with zPlan improvements; making it easier for you to create first-class floorplans.

Price changes and the rise of green technologies

In the news this month, it’s now cheaper to rent than buy a house for the first time in 6 years, big high street banks are offering green mortgages and in London’s square mile we’ve seen the installation of a £4m heat pump system. These recent stories signal a welcome shift towards green technologies and we will ensure that our software keeps up with these exciting developments.

Video Tip of the month

Inputting stairs to floorplans can be difficult, but here at zPlan we make it as easy as possible. Not all stairs are the same and we recognise the importance of adding each stair separately depending on the floor level. Check out our video guide for adding stairs:

An additional tip… you’ll notice that our software automatically snaps the stairs to a wall, however, sometimes we might want to rotate or flip the stairs. To do this you simply need to left-click the stairs, and select ‘Un-snap object’. This will allow you to flip and rotate stairs freely, which is sometimes needed for stairs with a 90° turn in them. Additionally, you can make use of the flip object button too.
